Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a number of hay bales were set alight in Middle Point on Tuesday night.
Sometime overnight, a large number of hay bales are believed to have been set alight on a property bordering the Arnhem Highway.
Bushfires NT volunteers attended and extinguished the fire, praising a passer-by grader driver who stopped to assist by putting in a firebreak around the burning hay.
Watch Commander Josh Cunningham said, "Investigations are ongoing and at this stage the fire is being treated as suspicious.
"NT Police are urging anyone with information, particularly dash-cam footage from Tuesday night, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10034144.
