Police Seek Information On Death At Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police are calling for public assistance following the discovery of a deceased man in Tennant Creek overnight.

About 9:30pm last night, police on patrol along Staunton Street near Kargaru Oval located a man lying on the ground a short distance from the roadway.

Officers immediately conducted a welfare check and, after determining the man was not breathing and had no pulse, they commenced CPR.

St John Ambulance attended and continued resuscitation efforts; however, the man was declared deceased at the scene about10:00pm.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing. At this stage, there are no obvious signs of injury.

The deceased man is believed to be aged between 35 and 40 years and was not carrying any form of identification.

Anyone who may have been in the area of Staunton Street or Kargaru Oval around the time, or who may have information that could assist, is urged to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference number P26105368. Information may also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
