Police seek information on Missing aircraft - Arnhem Land

Northern Territory Police together with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority Response Centre are searching for a light aircraft that has not been contactable since departing Gove yesterday about 08:30am.

The single engine airplane with a pilot and one passenger on board was due to land in Katherine about 10.30am yesterday, but did not arrive.

AMSA Response Centre was alerted early yesterday afternoon and an air search for the aircraft commenced and will continue today.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen the plane between Gove and Katherine to contact them on 131 444 and quote reference number 10212740.
