Police seek information on Robbery in Katherine 19 December

Earlier this morning, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre was alerted to an incident at the Katherine Caltex service station.

Two individuals believed to be youths, entered the premises and attempted to remove some items from the fridges without paying for them. When approached by a staff member, they retaliated and threw cans of drink at the attendant, hitting him and bruising his arm.

Staff took precautionary measures by locking themselves in a safe room while the offenders turned their attention to the till and items behind the counter, stealing cash and tobacco before running from the area.

Katherine General Duties swiftly responded to the report, and a crime scene was declared.

Police are urging the community to come forward with any information related to the identities or whereabouts of the offenders.

Investigations are ongoing.
