Police seek information on Stolen tools in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance in relation to the theft of a large amount of battery powered tools from a work ute in Alice Springs overnight.

Sometime between 9:30pm Thursday and 6am today, unknown offenders forced entry into a locked tool box on the back of a work utility parked at an address on Head Street.

It is estimated that $10,000 worth of power tools were stolen from the tool box.

Another vehicle parked at the same address had also been interfered with.

Watch Commander Senior Sergeant Danny Bell said the theft of such items was a concern for police.

"It's highly unlikely the offenders who stole these items will be using them to build a house or anything else constructive", said Snr Sgt Bell

"It's more likely they will use such implements to partake in nefarious activities, so we're keen for anyone with information such as suspicious activity in the area or the whereabouts of these tools, to contact police immediately."

Police are calling for anyone who was travelling in the area of Head Street and surrounding residential properties, who have dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
