Police seek information on Stolen vehicle in Darwin

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after a vehicle was stolen in Darwin yesterday shorty after a music festival.

Around 12:35am, a 23-year-old man allegedly stole a white Toyota Hilux and began driving along Maria Livers Avenue, Mindil Beach. The vehicle came to stop after colliding with the cement curbing.

The alleged offender fled the scene and was arrested a short time later by the Dog Operations Unit.

He was issued with a Notice to Appear for multiple driving offences including:

  • Drive vehicle in a manner dangerous
  • Fail to report and accident
  • Not stop after accident
  • Resist police
  • Unlawfully use motor vehicle

He is expected to appear before Darwin Local Court on 3 July 2023.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly if you have mobile footage, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10350935.
