Police seek information over child approach - Cabramatta

Investigators are appealing for information after a girl was approached by a male on her walk to school in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 8am (Thursday 12 March 2020), police have been told a 12-year-old girl was walking along Fairview Road, Cabramatta, when she was approached by a man driving a grey or silver coloured Toyota RAV 4WD.

The man spoke to the girl and told her to get into the car. After the girl entered the vehicle, the man then sexually touched her.

She managed to run from the vehicle and report the matter to officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command, who commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, officers wish to speak with a man who might be able to assist with their investigation.

He is described as having a dark olive complexion, aged in his 30s, and with dark straight hair cut into a fade. The man was last seen wearing black jeans, a black T-shirt and sunglasses.

Police are appealing for any motorists who might have been in the Fairview Road area around the time of the incident and has dashcam footage, to contact police.
