Police Seek Information Over Stabbing - Matraville

Police have released CCTV and are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a stabbing in Sydney's east last week.

About 1.50am on Saturday 20 December 2025, emergency services were called to Perry Street, Matraville, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command located a 28-year-old man with stab wounds to his arm.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance before being taken to a hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of slim build, with long ponytail brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, beige shorts and black shoes.
