Police seek public assistance after flammable liquid poured on woman in Box Hill

Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after flammable liquid was poured on a woman in Box Hill earlier this week.

It is understood an altercation took place between a man and a woman, before the man poured a liquid over the woman's head on Hopetoun Parade about 8am on Tuesday, 20 September.

Police were told the man then produced a lighter and ignited a flame before the victim fled the scene on foot.

It is believed the incident follows an ongoing dispute and investigators are continuing to establish the exact circumstances.

Police have released an image of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.
