Police Seek Tips After Northcrest Armed Robbery

Northern Territory Police are calling for information following an aggravated robbery at a fast-food restaurant in Northcrest overnight.

At around 9:25pm, a man armed with a large machete entered the restaurant and threatened staff.

Staff took shelter in a back area while the man stole a cash register containing an amount of cash. He then fled on foot towards Knuckey's Lagoon. No injuries were reported.

Police attended, reviewed CCTV footage and searched the surrounding area; however, the man was not located.

He is described as being of Aboriginal appearance and tall, and was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and tan-coloured shoes.

Several customers were inside the restaurant at the time of the robbery, and police are urging them to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw a person acting suspiciously in the area or has relevant dash-cam footage is urged to contact police on 131 444. Anonymous reports can be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
