Police Seek Tips on Alice Springs Assault 3 September

NT Police are calling for information in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon.

At around 3:30pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received reports that a 15-year-old female was being assaulted by a group of up to five females on Gregory Terrace in the Alice Springs CBD.

It is alleged the victim was seated in a stationary vehicle in a carpark when the offenders surrounded the vehicle, entered it and began assaulting her. One of the offenders in the group allegedly assaulted the victim with a baseball bat.

The offenders are believed to be known to the victim.

General duties members responded, however the group fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim suffered bruising and non-life-threatening injuries to her face, hands and head, and attended hospital for assessment.
