Police seek witnesses after Fitzroy North incident

Yarra Highway Patrol officers are appealing for information following a road-rage incident in Fitzroy North on Sunday (5 May).

Police have been told two vehicles, a silver Toyota Yaris sedan and a silver Ford Falcon station wagon, were involved in a minor collision at the intersection of Alexandra Parade and George Street about 6pm.

It is understood an altercation took place between the two parties while details were being exchanged, with a 69-year-old Canberra man sustaining facial injuries as a result.

A 45-year-old Flemington man was arrested at the scene and has since been released pending further enquiries.

Investigators believe a number of witnesses stopped following the incident, however none remained on scene to speak with officers.

They are yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
