Police seek witnesses - Armed person - Malak

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an alleged armed person in Malak earlier today.

At about 1:15pm, a 19-year-old male allegedly approached a 47-year-old female who was waiting at the bus stop on Chambers Crescent and Holzerland Street. The victim was confronted by the male who pointed what she believed to be a gun directly at her before he walked away down Holzerland Street.

The matter was reported to police who responded and arrested the male nearby in possession of a replica firearm. He was conveyed to the Palmerston Watch House where he remains in custody.

Police believe there were other persons' at the bus stop during the incident who were waiting for the bus to Casuarina, which was due to arrive at 1:27pm. Police are calling for those people to come forward to assist with enquiries.
