Police seek witnesses, dashcam - single vehicle crash, Helensvale

Police investigating a single vehicle crash at Helensvale this afternoon are appealing for witnesses and dashcam vision.

Preliminary investigations indicate a 2008 red Kio Rio sedan was travelling westbound on Hope Island Road when the driver lost control, crossed over a median strip and struck a tree on the opposite side of the road.

The driver, a 26-year-old man and his 24-yer-old male passenger, both from Yarrabilba, were seriously injured and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating and are appealing for witnesses or anyone who observed the vehicle driving before the crash, to contact them. Police are also seeking any relevant dashcam footage.
