Police seek witnesses - Death investigationin Brisbane City

Brisbane Central detectives investigating the death of a 53-year-old man in Brisbane City are appealing for witnesses.

At around 10.40am on Monday, August 5 the man was involved in a dispute in Adelaide Street, outside of Digi Direct, with a 55-year-old West End man known to him.

Following this the man went and sat on a nearby bench where he lapsed into unconsciousness.

He received emergency treatment at the scene before being transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where he passed away early this morning (August 7).

Police have spoken to a number of people who were in the vicinity at the time, including the 55-year-old man.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident and hasn't spoken to police, or drivers with relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.

Both men were known to each other.
