Police seek witnesses to aggravated assault - Malak 22 March

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after an aggravated assault in Malak last night.

Around 11pm, police received reports that a 17-year-old male had assaulted a 23-year-old male with an edged weapon at a residence on Magdelene Court. Both males are known to each other.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition.

The alleged offender was arrested a short time later. This afternoon detectives charged him with aggravated assault. The youth was remanded in custody to appear in court tomorrow.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "On police attendance a large crowd had gathered on the street and we are calling on everyone who witnessed the incident, who hasn't already done so, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 9957323."
