Police seek witnesses to aggravated assault at Tennant Creek

A man is in a critical condition in the Royal Adelaide Hospital following an aggravated assault incident in Tennant Creek overnight.

Police responded to a report of a domestic violence incident in Bornite Street just before 10:30pm, and on arrival they located a 42-year-old man with a significant chest wound.

Police provided first aid on the man until he was able to be transported to the Tennant Creek Hospital. The man is expected to be medivaced to the Royal Adelaide Hospital this morning.

A 38-year-old woman who is known to the man, was arrested by police at the scene. She is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

The area has been declared a crime scene and police are currently appealing for witnesses to the incident or events leading up to it, to contact police on 131 444 or report it directly to the front counter of the Tennant Creek Police Station.
