Police seek witnesses to Lalor fatality

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old man was struck and killed while crossing Childs Road in Lalor last night.

The incident occurred when the man and his sister were on a pedestrian crossing outside the Lalor North College just before 7.30pm.

The pair had already crossed two lanes and the centre median strip when the man was struck by the west-bound car.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man could not be revived and died at the scene.

The driver of the car, an 80-year-old Reservoir man, is assisting with enquires.

Investigators believe that a number of cars stopped at the scene but left before providing their details and so are appealing to those drivers or passengers to come forward.
