Police seek witnesses to Preston serious collision

Greensborough Highway Patrol are appealing for public assistance after a pedestrian was hit by a truck in Preston this morning.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Bell Street and Gilbert Street about 10.30am.

A 76-year-old Collingwood woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 50-year-old Fawkner man, was not injured and stopped at the scene.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
