Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a sexual assault at Dandenong Railway Station last month.

Investigators have been told a 19-year-old Endeavour Hills man was standing at the bus stop when he was approached by another man who struck up a conversation on Saturday 15 June just after 9pm.

During the conversation, the unknown man held the victims hand and sexually assaulted him before walking off along Foster Street towards Cheltenham Road.

The man is perceived to be of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, about 165cm tall, aged in his late 40s and wearing a blue hooded jumper with the text BRKLYN on the front.

Detectives have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
