Police seeking witnesses to St Kilda brawl

Port Phillip Investigation detectives are appealing for public assistance following a brawl in St Kilda this morning.

Police were called to Fitzroy Street at 3am, following a report of an assault.

While a 26-year-old man was being arrested, several people intervened.

During the course of the arrest, OC spray was deployed and two police officers were injured.

The police members were taken to hospital and a 26-year-old man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses in the area at the time of the assault and anyone who may have mobile phone footage.
