Police have arrested nine people on outstanding warrants for traffic offences, and laid ten charges for other offences, as part of an operation to disrupt criminal activity in south-west Sydney and the state's south-west today.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers from Traffic South West, which includes Murrumbidgee, Murray River and Riverina police districts, conducted Operation Flux between 4am and 12pm today (Thursday 17 December 2020).

"This was about disrupting criminal activity in the target areas by identifying and arresting drivers wanted on traffic offences," said Acting Superintendent Robert Toynton, Commander of South West Traffic and Highway Patrol.

"This is a focus because there are links between people who are unlicensed, disqualified and have outstanding warrants for other criminal offences," said Acting Superintendent Toynton.

"As always, our key focus is on keeping the community safe and targeting law breakers."

During the operation, officers executed nine warrants, laid 10 charges for other offences, searched 11 people and nine vehicles, and carried out 232 breath tests and 90 random drug tests.
