Police treating fire as suspicious, Pimpama

Gold Coast detectives are appealing for witnesses to a suspicious fire inside a Pimpama business during the early hours of Saturday morning (July 2).

Just after midnight, police responded to reports of a fire inside a licensed premises under construction on Dixon Drive.

Officers managed to locate a fire extinguisher nearby and stop the flames from spreading.

Those responsible for starting the fire fled before police arrived.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Dixon Drive between midnight and 12.40am and who may have footage of the fire, to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
