Police update 1: Armed robbery, East Mackay

A 32-year-old Glasshouse Mountains man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in East Mackay on February 14.

It is alleged around 3.30pm, a 29-year-old woman was stopped in her car along Goldsmith Street when she was approached by a man who was not known to her.

The man allegedly demanded the woman exit the vehicle, before producing a knife.

Police will further allege a short struggle ensued resulting in the man fleeing the scene in the woman's 2019 blue Ford Endura station wagon

The woman was not physically injured.

Police located the man in the allegedly stolen vehicle in Cunnamulla on February 18, where he was taken into custody.

He has been charged with one count each of enter premises, robbery (armed), fraud (dishonest application of property of another) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and appeared in Cunnamulla Magistrates Court yesterday (February 20).
