Police Update 1: Fatal Traffic Crash, Regents Park

Police have charged a man following investigations into a fatal traffic crash in Regents Park this morning, 17 August.

Around 11.15am, police and emergency services were called to Green Road following a crash involving a white LDV dual cab utility and two pedestrians.

Both pedestrians, a 33-year-old man and 4-year-old boy from Crestmead, died at the scene.

The man and boy were known to each other.

The driver of the ute, a 41-year-old man from Regents Park was taken into custody at the scene.

He has since been charged with two counts of manslaughter.

The man is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow, 18 August.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) and Logan District Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) are ongoing.
