Police Update 1: Hit-and-run Traffic Crash, Cedar Vale

Police have charged a man following an alleged hit-and-run traffic incident in Cedar Vale on Thursday, 4 September.

Just after midnight, police were called to Mount Lindesay Highway following reports a white Toyota Corolla had struck a roadworker near Cedar Grove Road.

The driver then, allegedly sped from the scene.

The vehicle was located a short time later burnt out in Holyrood Ct, Munruben.

The roadworker, a 66-year-old man, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A 33-year-old Algester man has been charged with six offences including one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, driver fail to remain at incident and render assistance and arson motor vehicle.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on 24 November.
