Police Update 1: Officer Injured, Scenic Rim

Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a 20-year-old Cleveland man following a police officer sustaining leg injuries after being hit by a car at Allenview last week, February 23.

The male constable was struck by a grey Ford sedan after approaching a man seen marshalling vehicles with a traffic wand.

He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm, and driver failing to remain at the scene.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
