Police update 1: Serious assault and arson investigation, Raceview

Ipswich detectives investigating the serious assault of a man and subsequent suspicious house fire in Raceview last month are appealing for public assistance and have released images of a vehicle of interest to investigators.

Around 5am on April 23 police and emergency services attended a house fire in Mahogany Street where a 45-year-old man who lived at the address was located with critical injuries.

The man was transported to hospital for treatment to burns, as well as injuries sustained during an assault which occurred at the house prior to the fire.

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a vehicle (pictured) believed to be a silver Nissan X-Trail, which has a black rim on the rear left wheel, a dent in the front left bumper, and roof racks.

Anyone with any information in relation to this investigation, or any motorists with relevant dash cam footage are urged to contact police.
