Police update 1: Serious crash, Alexandra

Police have charged a 72-year-old man following investigations into a three-vehicle crash in Alexandra on July 11, 2023.

It will be alleged just after 8am, a white Toyota Corolla travelling west along Mackay Eungella Road towards Walkerston was stationary and indicating to turn right onto Palms Road, when a green Toyota Landcruiser (also travelling west) crashed into the rear of the vehicle.

It will be further alleged the Toyota Corolla then hit an oncoming Nissan Navara travelling east.

The three drivers were taken to hospital for treatment at the time.

The driver of the Landcruiser, a 72-year-old North Mackay man, has been issued a notice to appear for driving without due care and attention causing Grievous Bodily Harm.

He is due to appear at Mackay Magistrates Court on November 28.
