Police Update 1: Serious Traffic Crash, Fishery Falls

Police are appealing for public assistance following a serious traffic crash at Fishery Falls on 19 June.

Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway around 11.11am following reports a white hire utility travelling north had clipped a minibus travelling south before drifting further and colliding head on with a campervan.

The driver of the hire vehicle, a 56-year-old Mount Peter was airlifted to hospital by the Queensland Government Rescue 510 helicopter with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

An elderly couple travelling in the campervan were transported by road to Cairns Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

No one in the minibus was injured.

Police are appealing for anyone with relevant vision, or who saw the utility travelling north prior to the crash, or who witnessed the crash itself to contact police.
