Police update 2: Fatal traffic incident at Numinbah Valley

Detectives from Gold Coast CIB have tonight charged a 28-year-old Mitchelton man and a 29-year-old Narangba man with murder following the death of a motorcyclist at Natural Bridge (Numinbah Valley) on Friday morning.

Police will allege the two men were in a vehicle when, for circumstances still under investigation, a 28-year-old motorcyclist from Bracalba crashed around 10.10am. He sustained life-threating injuries and died at the scene.

The Mitchelton man was arrested late yesterday afternoon (Saturday) on the Sunshine Coast. The 29-year-old Narangba man surrendered into custody at the Laidley police station shortly after 2am on Saturday.

Both men were refused bail and are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow (July 5).

Police investigations continue.

*Please note: A previous media release stated the 29-year-old man was from Benowa. As per the above, the man is from Narangba.
