Police update 2: PSPA revoked, Kirwan

The Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) surrounding Elphinstone Drive was revoked at 6.45am.

Police entered the dwelling and located a 50-year-old man deceased. A crime scene has been declared.

Police attended Elphinstone Drive at 8pm last night, March 12, to reports of a disturbance.

The man reportedly fired several shots hitting surrounding houses, a car and responding police vehicles.

No other persons were physically injured.

An emergency declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at about 9pm with boundaries encompassing Dalrymple Road, Kern Brothers Drive, Sandstone Drive, and Golf Links Drive.

Ethical Standards Command will overview the operation.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
