Police update 3: Burglary and Wounding, Coorparoo

Police have charged a 13-year-old boy as investigations continue into an alleged burglary and wounding in Coorparoo yesterday.

Police were allegedly called to a Buena Vista Avenue home around 3am in relation to four people, a 47-year-old man, a 46-year-old woman, a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman injured by intruders attempting to steal their car.

Police will allege the 13-year-old boy was involved in a burglary and unlawful use of a silver Hyundai SUV from a residence in Flinders Crescent, Forest Lake, around 2.15am yesterday. He was subsequently charged with one count each of burglary and unlawful use of motor vehicle related to the Forest Lake matter. The vehicle (pictured below), was allegedly used in the later incident in Coorparoo. It is yet to be located.

Police have further charged the 13-year-old boy with burglary for his involvement in the burglary and wounding incident at Coorparoo yesterday. He was refused bail and appeared at the Brisbane Children's Court today where he was remanded in custody to re-appear on Friday 20 August 2021.

Investigations are ongoing.
