Police update 3: Homicide investigation at Ingham

Police have charged a 24-year-old man following the death of a 20-year-old man in Ingham on January 10.

Around 9am this morning, the Ingham man handed himself in at Ingham Police Station.

On Sunday night around 11.30pm, police will allege a 20-year-old Ingham man was walking along Mcilwraith Street with two females, when a man approached the group.

An altercation has occurred between the two men, resulting in the 20-year-old receiving a stab wound to his stomach. He was later pronounced deceased at 12.40am.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder (domestic violence), contravening a domestic violence order and breach of bail conditions. He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrate Court tomorrow.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have any information about the incident or relevant CCTV or dash cam footage between 11pm and 1am in the vicinity of Mcilwraith Street.
