Police update 3: Missing woman, Gap

The search for missing 78-year-old woman, Wendy Smith, is continuing in The Gap area.

Today (February 17) police divers assisted with a search of the Enoggera Reservoir.

Unfortunately no sign of Wendy was located.

A co-ordinated land search of further bushland at The Gap will continue tomorrow morning.

Wendy was last seen at a Lahore Street address on February 2 at approximately 9pm, where it is believed she then left on foot.

Officer in Charge of The Gap, Senior Sergeant Robb Wann said extensive efforts have been involved in the search for Wendy.

"The Gap police with assistance from Missing Person's Unit and the QPS intelligence unit have analysed hours of CCTV footage and made enquiries with local residents, business, hospitals and transportation networks," Senior Sergeant Wann said.

"This, along with extensive searches involving police on foot, dive squad, Polair and SES volunteers have been conducted."

"While efforts continue, we believe someone out there may have information that is the missing piece of the puzzle, " Senior Sergeant Rob Wann said.

"We continue to ask anyone with information, no matter how insignificant they think it may be, to come forward."
