Police have now recovered the firearm stolen during an aggravated burglary in Lajamanu on Wednesday.
Around 3pm, a member of the community attended Lajamanu Police Station to hand the firearm in to police.
Investigations are ongoing to locate the offenders involved in the incident.
Acting Senior Sergeant Jimmy Yengayenga said, "I would like to thank the members of the public for their assistance.
"Their support has been vital in ensuring the safe recovery of the firearm and in keeping our community safe."
