Police update: Appeal for information: Armed assault, Goodna

Ipswich Detectives have charged a 46-year-old man in relation to the assault of a 55-year-old man in Goodna on Sunday, November 13.

It will be alleged between 5pm and 5:30pm, the 55-year-old Redbank Plains man was leaving a licenced premises along Lowe Street before being confronted by a man, not known to him, carrying a metal baseball bat.

Following a brief exchange, the armed man assaulted the 55-year-old, striking him multiple times with the bat in the head and arms.

As a result of the assault, the 55-year-old man sustained significant injuries, including an arm fracture and bleeding on the brain.

Yesterday detectives charged a 46-year-old Goodna man with one count of grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed.

The man will appear before the Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 17.
