Police update: Appeal to locate elderly man missing from Smithfield

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from Sydney's west.

Hung Truong, aged 69, was last seen near his home on Chifley Street, Smithfield, about 1.30pm today (1 March 2022).

He was reported missing to officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command who commenced an investigation into his whereabouts.

Following inquiries, Hung was observed boarding a City bound train from platform 4 at Parramatta Railway Station at 5.50pm on Tuesday 1 March 2022.

Police and family have concerns for Hung's welfare as he lives with dementia and has trouble communicating.

Hung is described as being of Asian appearance, thin build, with grey hair. He was last seen wearing a blue coloured polo shirt with white stripes, beige coloured cargo shorts and dark coloured slides.
