Police update: Assault, Kippa Ring

Police have charged a 42-year-old Moreton Bay man following an alleged assault at Kippa Ring on Wednesday, September 27.

It will be alleged at approximately 2.10pm, an 81-year-old man had a brief conversation with another man, not known to him, at a bus stop on Anzac Avenue.

During the interaction, the elderly man was allegedly struck to the head, knocking him to the ground.

He was transported to the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from Redcliffe Criminal Investigation Branch arrested a 42-year-old Moreton Bay man at an address in Clontarf yesterday, September 29.

He has been charged with one count of serious assault (person over 60) and is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court today, September 30.
