Police Update: Attempted Armed Robberies At Rockhampton

Police have charged a boy following investigations into two attempted armed robberies in Rockhampton last week.

Around 8.30pm on Sunday, May 25, a male entered a service station on the corner of Kent Lane and Albert Street allegedly armed with a hammer, demanding cash and cigarettes from an employee before fleeing the store without money or property.

Around 9.45am on Monday, May 26, it is alleged a male entered a Dean Street business and approached an employee demanding vapes, and smashing a display cabinet with a hammer before fleeing the store empty handed.

In both incidents, no one was physically injured.

A 17-year-old Rockhampton City boy has been charged with two counts each of attempted armed robbery, and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

He will appear before Rockhampton Childrens Court on June 10.
