A 26-year-old South Brisbane man has been charged following investigations into the serious assault of a woman in Fortitude Valley on February 14.
Police will allege two women were sitting on the footpath at the intersection of Constance and Wickham Streets, when they were approached by an unknown man around 11.40pm.
The man allegedly threatened violence and demanded money from one of the pair, a 22-year-old woman.
The man is alleged to have kicked the woman in the face when she refused.
The 22-year-old woman lost consciousness as a result and was transported to hospital in a stable condition with facial injuries.
The 26-year-old man has since been arrested and charged with two counts of attempted armed robbery with violence; and one count each of attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possess drug utensil. He is due to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court today (March 10).
