Police update: Break & enter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and arson, Molendinar

Police have charged two men following investigations into a fire at a Molendinar car-yard on Saturday, May 4.

It will be alleged around 1.00am, two men forced entry to a car-yard on Industrial Avenue, used by a tow-company to secure damaged vehicles retrieved from traffic accidents.

Police will further allege the men unlawfully entered several vehicles, before a fire destroyed three vehicles and the men fled the scene on foot.

Firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze. All three vehicles were destroyed.

An 18-year-old Cornubia man and an 18-year-old Molendinar man have both been charged with enter premises with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on May 31 and May 28 respectively.
