Police update: Charges - Disturbances - Victoria River Region

Police have charged a fourth person in relation to a series of disturbances at a remote community in the Victoria River Region continue.

Police can now confirm an altercation that took place involved non-locals employed in the community allegedly discharging live fireworks directly at community members.

Superintendent Kirk Pennuto said, "One man has now been charged with assault and fireworks offences, bailed and was expelled from the community by the community.

"Investigations are continuing and police expect to lay further charges in relation to this particular incident."
