Police update: Escape lawful custody at Mount Isa

Two men have been charged after allegedly escaping police custody in Mount Isa on Sunday (February 26).

It will be alleged around 12.30pm, the two men damaged a window in the Mount Isa watchhouse on Isa Street and fled on foot towards Camooweal Street.

A 19-year-old Sunset man was arrested at Mount Isa on Monday morning (February 27).

He's been charged with one count each of escape by persons in lawful custody and wilful damage and is expected to appear at Mount Isa Magistrates Court today (February 28).

A 25-year-old Mount Isa man was located and arrested in Mount Isa on Monday night (February 27).

He has been charged with one count of escape by persons in lawful custody and two counts of wilful damage and is expected to appear at Mount Isa Magistrates Court today (February 28).
