A woman has died and a man remains in hospital following a shark attack on the Mid North Coast yesterday morning.
About 6.30am yesterday (Thursday 27 November 2025), emergency services were called to a beach at Crowdy Bay following reports two people had been bitten by a shark.
A witness assisted the pair prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the woman died at the scene.
While yet to be formally identified, the woman is believed to be aged 25.
The 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
It's believed the pair were visiting from Switzerland.
The beach remains closed, and inquiries are continuing by police attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
