Police update: Homicide investigation at Redbank

A 28-year-old Boronia Heights man has been charged following the death of a 63-year-old man in Redbank overnight.

Around 10.25pm on May 27, police were called to a unit on Mine Street following reports a man had sustained serious injuries.

On arrival, police located a 63-year-old Riverview man with several serious wounds.

Emergency services provided treatment to the man however he died a short time later.

It will be alleged three people, the two men and a woman, were inside a unit when an altercation occurred, before the 63-year-old man was stabbed by the 28-year-old.

Police located the 28-year-old man on the premises and he was taken into custody.

The man has been charged with one count each of murder, threatening violence and possess dangerous drugs (methamphetamine).

He is due before Ipswich Magistrates Court on May 29.
