Police update: Murder charge, Bundamba

A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder in relation to the death of a 19-year-old woman at Bundamba.

Police were called to a Bundamba address at approximately 9.30pm on February 4, to reports a 19-year-old woman had collapsed.

She was transported in a critical condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she died on the evening of February 5.

Detectives from Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit declared the address a crime scene and launched Operation Victor Fluorite to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

As a result of investigations, detectives this morning arrested a 21-year-old Dinmore man at a Richlands address.

It will be alleged he is known to the 19-year-old woman.

He has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence) and is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow (February 11).

Investigations remain ongoing and detectives appeal to those known to the 19-year-old woman, who may have information which could assist investigations, to come forward.
