Police update: serious assault charges, Helensvale - two further arrests

Police have made two further arrests as part of investigations into the alleged serious assault and wounding of a 38-year-old man in Helensvale on February 28.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima today (March 23) charged a 52-year-old Main Beach woman with one count of Assault Occasioning Bodily harm and a 30-year-old Main Beach man with one count of Assault Occasioning Bodily harm whilst in company.

It will be alleged at approximately 2pm on February 28 a group of men attended a Millaroo Drive business address and assaulted another man before fleeing the scene in multiple vehicles. The alleged victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Police will allege the 52-year-old woman was involved in arranging for and doing acts that enables the assault to occur.

Police will allege the 30-year-old man was involved in arranging for the assault to occur and was present with the primary offenders during the assault

The pair are due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on April 4.

Investigators have now charged a total of seven people with eight offences.

Investigations are ongoing.
