Police update: Serious traffic crash, Murarrie

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy following a serious traffic crash involving an alleged stolen vehicle in Murarrie on Tuesday, March 21.

It will be alleged at approximately 3am, a grey Mercedes utility crashed into a concrete barrier near the Lytton Road exit of the Gateway Motorway.

Three occupants were in the vehicle at the time. One passenger, a 15-year-old Murarrie boy, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Queensland Children's Hospital for treatment.

He has since been released.

Two other 16-year-old boys sustained non-life threatening injuries and were also transported to hospital for treatment. One remains in hospital whilst the other was released.

A 16-year-old Murarrie boy has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear at Cleveland Childrens Court.

The car was allegedly stolen from a Coolum address on Saturday, March 18.
