Police update: Street disturbance, Runcorn

Fifteen men have been charged after a violent street brawl at Runcorn on Monday night.

Around 10.30pm, a group of around 40 people met on Daw Road and engaged in a brawl which injured eight men.

The group allegedly used a variety of weapons, including bats, poles and various edged weapons during the brawl.

A 35-year-old Park Ridge man charged with grievous bodily harm, affray and disturbing a religious assembly after a 36-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his head, neck and hand.

He has been denied police bail and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Four other men, aged between 31 and 46, will also appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today after being charged with grievous bodily harm and affray.

A 33-year-old Eight Mile Plains and 36-year-old Bracken Ridge man were charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and affray. They are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 27.

A 38-year-old man is also due to appear the same day charged with affray.

Seven men, aged between 29 and 38, charged with affray are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 4.

Investigations continue.
